The Butchery Wiki
Your complete survival guide to escaping Cottonwood Farm — puzzles, weapons, walkthroughs, and every secret through Part 5.
Play on RobloxOverview
The Butchery is a survival horror experience on Roblox, created by chubby_baby7 and inspired by Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. After driving down the wrong road in the Cottonwood Mountains, you are ambushed and wake inside an old farmhouse owned by two deranged brothers — Jackson and William.
Your goal is simple but terrifying: solve environmental puzzles, manage scarce resources, outwit mutant creatures, and escape alive. The game has attracted over 98 million visits since its release on December 26, 2022, and continues to grow with major story updates.
The May 30, 2026 update released Part 4 and Part 5, expanding the story beyond the farmhouse into the garden and barn areas with new monstrosities and a full conclusion to the nightmare.
Game at a Glance
- Developer: chubby_baby7
- Genre: Horror, Adventure, Action, Puzzle
- Platform: Roblox (PC recommended with mouse)
- Chapters: Part 1 through Part 5 (Demo + full story)
- Setting: Cottonwood Farm — attic, upstairs, downstairs, basement, garden, barn
- Main antagonists: Jackson, William, and Pig/Cow/Horse mutants
What Makes It Difficult
New players often struggle because objectives are environmental rather than quest-marked. Dark rooms hide key items, ammo is extremely limited, and direct combat with mutants usually ends badly. Multiplayer helps — teammates can split puzzle-solving and distraction roles.
Codes
Players frequently search for The Butchery codes to unlock free items, currency, or boosts. As of June 2026, there are no active promotional codes for this game. chubby_baby7 has not published a code redemption system through Roblox's standard promo code channel.
Unlike many simulator or tycoon games on Roblox, The Butchery is a story-driven horror experience where progression comes from solving puzzles and completing chapters — not from redeeming codes.
How to Redeem Codes (When Available)
- Launch The Butchery on Roblox
- Look for a Codes button in the lobby or pause menu (if added in a future update)
- Enter the code exactly as published — codes are usually case-sensitive
- Click Redeem and check your inventory for rewards
Where to Watch for New Codes
- Official Roblox game description and update notes
- Developer chubby_baby7's Roblox profile and social announcements
- This wiki — we update the Codes section whenever new codes appear
Controls & Settings
The Butchery uses standard Roblox controls with horror-specific interactions. The developer strongly recommends playing on PC with a mouse for aiming and camera control in dark areas.
PC Controls
| Action | Key / Input |
|---|---|
| Move | W A S D |
| Jump | Space |
| Sprint | Shift (hold) |
| Interact / Pick up | E or Left Click |
| Aim / Look | Mouse |
| Use weapon | Left Click |
| Inventory slots | 1 – 9 |
| Flashlight toggle | Automatic in dark areas when equipped |
| Pause / Menu | Esc |
Mobile & Console
Mobile uses on-screen virtual joystick and tap-to-interact buttons. Console players use standard gamepad mappings. Combat and puzzle precision are harder on mobile — consider lowering enemy difficulty by playing with friends.
Recommended Settings
- Lower graphics quality if dark rooms are too hard to navigate
- Enable Reduce Motion in Roblox settings to disable camera bobbing (helps motion sickness)
- Use headphones — enemy footsteps and ambient sounds reveal mutant locations
- Increase brightness slightly if your display is very dark (without ruining horror atmosphere)
Walkthrough
This walkthrough covers all five parts of The Butchery from the opening cutscene through the final escape. Move slowly, listen for enemy sounds, and conserve handgun ammo until you must fight.
Part 1 — The Attic & Upstairs
After the intro, you wake in the attic. Find the Mannequin Arm and use it on the hole in the wall to progress. Collect statuettes (Bird, Cat, Horse) from upstairs rooms — the Cat is hidden in the bathroom toilet.
Complete the Statuettes puzzle to obtain the Beetle Key. Use it to escape the Pig mutant patrolling upstairs. Avoid direct combat until you have a weapon in Part 2.
Part 2 — Downstairs & The Survivor
Find the Handgun in the dining area. During the Pig Rodeo sequence, stay mobile and use the environment. Meet the Survivor NPC and solve the Music Box (Jack-in-the-Box) puzzle — hit the dummy five times in a row without missing.
Obtain the Clock Hand from the cow room, set the grandfather clock to 2:35 for the Laundry Key. Fight cow mutants with headshots (roughly 6 shots each). Complete the Hourglass puzzle in the workshop — activate it and reach the secret passage behind the bookcase before time runs out.
Part 3 — The Basement
Descend to the basement with your flashlight. Solve the Circular Saw puzzle while evading the Horse mutant. Acquire the Shotgun and use all remaining Handgun ammo plus the Shotgun to defeat the Horse.
The Horse drops the Garden Key (with the Survivor's hand still attached). Take it upstairs, pass through the Centipede Door to the porch, and unlock the Garden Door to end Part 3.
Part 4 — The Garden
Released May 30, 2026. Explore the garden area outside the farmhouse. New enemy encounters and environmental hazards await. Search thoroughly for ammo and healing items before entering open areas.
Follow visual cues and notes scattered in the garden sheds. Puzzle solutions often reference items found indoors — backtrack if stuck.
Part 5 — The Barn & Ending
The final chapter takes place in the barn. Confront the brothers' latest creations and make choices that determine your ending. Stock up on meds and ammo before the final sequences.
Multiple endings may be available based on your choices throughout the game. Replay to discover alternate outcomes and earn remaining badges.
Puzzles
Puzzles are the core progression gate in The Butchery. Each requires finding a key item in a nearby room and applying it to the correct interactable object.
Statuettes Puzzle
Collect Bird, Cat, and Horse statuettes from upstairs rooms. Place them on the correct pedestals to unlock the Beetle Key. The Cat statuette is inside the bathroom toilet.
Grandfather Clock (2:35)
Find the Clock Hand in the room with the cow mutant. Insert it into the grandfather clock in the Dining Room. Wind left until the small hand reaches 10, wind left until the big hand reaches 3, then wind right until the small hand reaches 2 — setting the time to 2:35. A sticky note in the fridge confirms this time. If the hand sticks at 10, adjust manually.
Music Box (Jack-in-the-Box)
After meeting the Survivor, interact with the Jack-in-the-Box. Hit the dummy five consecutive times without missing. One miss resets the sequence. Ammo is limited during this section — aim carefully if combat follows.
Hourglass Puzzle
Defeat the two cow mutants in the workshop (approximately 12 headshots total recommended). Activate the hourglass on the table. A secret passage opens behind the bookcase — enter quickly before the timer expires.
Circular Saw Puzzle
In the basement, configure the circular saw mechanism while evading the Horse. Complete the puzzle sequence to access the Shotgun area.
Lion's Carillon Puzzle
Found in the Old Bedroom area. Read The Lion's Tale note for the melody sequence. Completing this puzzle grants the Laid To Rest badge.
Hole in the Wall
Early in Part 1, insert the Mannequin Arm into the wall hole. Solving this grants the Helping Hand badge.
Items & Weapons
Inventory space is limited. Pick up items you need soon and remember spawn locations for consumables you may need later.
Weapons & Ammo
| Item | Use |
|---|---|
| Handgun | Primary ranged weapon; aim for headshots on mutants |
| Handgun Ammo | Scarce — conserve for mandatory fights |
| Shotgun | Found in basement; essential for Horse boss |
| Knife | Melee backup; risky against mutants |

Enemies & Bosses
Enemies fall into two categories: human antagonists (Jackson and William) and farm mutants (Pig, Cow, Horse). Mutants patrol fixed routes and make distinct sound cues when moving.
Mutant Types
| Enemy | Behavior | Strategy |
|---|---|---|
| Pig Mutant | Patrols upstairs; fast charges | Evade in Part 1; fight with handgun in Part 2 rodeo |
| Cow Mutant | Heavy, high HP; multiple encounters | 6+ headshots with handgun; 12 headshots for pairs in workshop |
| Horse Mutant | Basement boss; extremely dangerous | Use Shotgun + all remaining ammo; final Part 3 boss |
Human Antagonists
Jackson and William drive the story through cutscenes and traps. They are not standard combat enemies but orchestrate the horrors you face. Their plans unfold across all five parts.
Combat Tips
- Always aim for the head with the Handgun for maximum damage
- Sprint away and hide if caught without ammo
- Listen for footstep audio cues before entering new rooms
- Never engage mutants without a clear escape route

Many Roblox games publish a Trello board for update tracking. The Butchery does not have an official Trello board as of June 2026. Fan-made Trellos may exist but are not verified by the developer.

Scripts & Safety
Searching for The Butchery scripts, auto-farm, or exploit tools is common, but there are no official scripts for this game. Using third-party executors violates Roblox Terms of Service and risks permanent account bans.
The Butchery is designed as a story experience — puzzles cannot be legitimately skipped. Instead of scripts, use this walkthrough for step-by-step puzzle solutions.
Why Scripts Don't Work Well Here
- Progress is gated by inventory-based puzzle items, not grind
- Server-side validation prevents most exploit shortcuts
- Horror pacing is intentional — skipping ruins the experience
- Account bans from Roblox anti-cheat are permanent
Legitimate Alternatives
- Follow our Walkthrough and Puzzles sections
- Play co-op with friends to split tasks
- Watch verified YouTube playthroughs for visual guidance
- Replay chapters to practice combat and puzzle timing
